Nestled on the eastern coast of the Gulf of Thailand and just southeast of Bangkok, Pattaya has the unique distinction of being situated inside of Amphoe Bang Lamung without actually being part of it. Pattaya is located in the Chon Buri Province. It literally translates to “Southwest Monsoon Wind,” which implies something exciting, evocative, and ever so slightly dangerous. It is a special municipality and governs itself; the area of which it is part covers all of Nong Prue and Na Kluea, and portions of Huai Yai and Nong Pla Lai as well.
Although it is located in an industrial area, the industry in Pattaya itself is very mild. Because it is both comparable and close to Bangkok, Pattaya is an excellent place to live. It is ideal for families, whether they wish to be full time residents or to purchase a second home there, and it is perfect for retirees as well.Pattaya used to be a small fishing town, and it still retains some of that slightly rustic, enchanting charm, although it is now something of a beach resort. It was extremely popular during the Vietnam War, during which time American soldiers became coming to the area on leave, as they knew they could definitely get some rest and recreation there. Nowadays, it is an extremely family friendly place to live. It is full of various means of family entertainment. The people are inherently amenable as well, and welcome foreigners with universally open arms. In addition to a recent increase in family tourism, Pattaya is seeing more and more foreign families moving into town. It is especially popular among Europeans and it has a very large expatriate population from all over the world, to the point where there are even expatriate clubs. Like the economy the Pattaya real estate market is absolutely booming right now. A great many of the high rise buildings which you will find in Pattaya are actually condominium buildings, which are wide open and welcoming to foreigners. The real estate market is doing great in terms of housing as well. It has never been easier or less expensive to purchase a house or a condominium in Pattaya than it is right now. One of the major areas bwhere this real estate boom can be seem is in Jomtien a section of Pattaya found south of south pattaya. Jomtien property is in high demand and so is Jomtien condo. Interest rates, in particular, continue to decrease. Between that, the thriving economy, and the incredibly low cost of living, it is a perfect time to purchase real estate in Pattaya. Moreover, anything that you buy is sure to become an excellent investment. The family friendly environment in Pattaya makes it a fantastic to both raise children and retire. |
